Model Session every Monday and Saturday

Open drawing/painting  group that meets twice weekly to draw or paint from one of our live art models. We have a growing list of models to provide for great variety and a growing group of attendees to provide for good conversation. We have easels, drawing horses, tables, and desks; all you need to bring are art materials.  We meet every Monday from 6pm - 9pm for $10 and saturday 10-12 for $5.
As always, BYOB.

We will literally be playing vintage Joy Of Painting episodes, while our instructors pause to expain in detail Bob's almighty methods and madness.
Ages 15 plus. we are using oil paints and solvents, please dress for a mess.
No skill required, 21+can BYOB with ID.

Lancaster Art Studios One Year Anniversary 
a three day celebration of the arts in Lancaster 

 April 6th-9th, 2018.  
Lancaster Art Studio's will be celebrating one year at their new location, 411 W King St with a weekend of events showcasing the thriving local independent arts community, beginning first Friday in April. 

First Friday, April 6th. 4-10 pm 

3 gallery openings
a showcase of art including the PCA&D Student show, as well as two galleries of work from LAS members and local Lancaster artists. Free to the public. 

Open painting studio; Group painting instructed by our members.  
materials provided $10-$15 light fair provided. 

Saturday April 7th 

Lancaster Art Market 10am-5pm.
Art and hand-made items sold by local makers. Over 40 vendors on two floors. 
Family friendly and free to the public. Vendor tables are only $15. Vendor information is available at

20/10 Variety Show (special Saturday edition) 6-9pm
A weekly event that welcomes all kinds of performances and talents such as, musicians, poets, comedians, dancers, actors and so much more. 20 slots with 10 minutes per performance. $5 cover. Don't hesitate to come out and sign up every Tuesday! Blast off into a night of awesome local talent!!

1st Anniversary After Party 9pm-1am
local DJ, Andrew Russel, and his troop of DJs from New York and Philly will provide mellow but danceable house music. $10, 21+can BYOB

Sunday April 7th  
A Day to Create festival 
a full day of classes and workshops to get you creating, moving, and making.
LAS members will host classes in juggling, hooping, collage, painting, dance, yoga, acrobatics, a photo booth, and more! pay as you go (prices vary) or buy a festival ticket for $30. festival ticket includes admission to all workshops, lunch provided by Wacker Brewing, and a pot-luck dinner provided by members. Art Lessons for All Levels!


Learn to draw and paint with instructor Aaron Shiflet. 

Students will explore graphite, charcoal, oils acrylics and wet media.  Open to all levels, curriculum based on individual students pace and level of skill.  Day, evening, and weekend time slots available.   $25/hr.
Instructor Aaron Shiflet will teach his method of drawing and painting from life via direct observation of still life, landscape, and some figure subjects. Students will learn techniques for drawing with several different media as well as techniques for composition, proportion, rendering light and shadow, surface textures, and material quality.
